Torn Between Two Covers: Ryan Lochte v Magic Mike (Phelps)

Forget Ali v Frazier. Forget Holmes v Cruise. Forget Obama v Romney. The Olympics are almost upon us and it will be Ryan Lochte vs Michael Phelps everywhere in the pool–and on a news stand near you now.

Update 7/29: Cover of “Call Me Maybe” parody “Call Me Lochte” video. Hysterical.

Ryan Lochte, who previously made history on the cover of Vogue’s June issue, finds his way solo on the July/August issue of Men’s Health, mullet free from 4 years ago, donning the Ralph Lauren designed Olympic team uniform jacket–not to mention the underwear–in what looks suspiciously like an ad for Ralph Lauren.

Add to that  his cover for Time magazine’s Olympic issue out today and he’s clearly becoming the face–and body– of the Olympics in the USA.

Michael Phelps has found his way onto the cover of Details’ August issue, awkwardly posed but awfully butch, looking all scruffy and with his body unshaven, as if he were starring in something called “Magic Mike: The Pool Boy Always Rings Twice.”

Which cover do you like best?
